Hit the Road!
I recently bought a car! Yay! Here are some pics. Got the car from a JET who was heading back home and whose successor was either unable to drive or just didn't want a car.

The whole process was relatively easy. She brought her shaken paperwork and I brought my hanko and proof that the hanko is registered to some local government office, paid a reasonable fee, and then it was mine. I paid her 120,000yen for the car. Probably a bit on the expensive side, but it still has about a years worth of shaken left, so not too bad. I also had to spend about 90,000yen for a years worth of basic car insurance and will have to pay 3,500yen per month for a parking space.
Totally worth it!
